Artist Bio

I’m Gloria Sifa Shukrani. I was born in the Republic Democratic Of Congo, South Kivu Province in 1991. I attended primary and secondary in Uvira city. I was born in a family of 6 siblings. We are a Christian family. I started to sing at the age of 8 in a Sunday school in my village Kiliba Ondes. I started song-writing at the age of 20.

I got married in South Africa in 2014 and separated in 2018. I’m a single mother of a boy. From 2016 to 2017 I started to take short courses such as Customer Service, Modelling, Computer and different training. In 2019 I got a job in Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in Sediba Hope Medical Centre as a community health worker in the Tshwane Migrants Project in Pretoria. This was my first job on contract in South Africa and it is still my current job. It has opened doors to learn more and go through more training in different courses such as Mental Health, Human Rights, Positive Parenting, Health Awareness and Education, Gender-based violence (GBV).

In 2021, I stared the studio recording of my first song, ‘Refugee’. This was the start of my journey in humanitarian music. So far I have recorded 4 songs.
